Hello I'm Phil, I guess that was apparent from the site name :-). I put this site together to showcase some of my shots, why else do you take photos right? I mainly do sports and I'm looking to branch out into other areas as well. I have done some limited underwater photography (I have my advanced dive certification) but don't dive very often any more as my dive buddy moved; so I only really get to dive when on vacation these days. I did get to upgrade my camera recently so it will be a process to get better glass.
While I do take pictures I'm not huge on editing them as of yet but that is on my to do list (it's forever growing). Feel free to leave some feedback .. how else am I going to get better right...
Thanks for stopping by or if you stumbled upon this site happy meandering.
Ah the Denver Aquarium, an interesting location for a dive really. So the aquarium is also the location of a seafood restaurant .. does that mean the fish that don't perform are dinner? hehe
Anyway, it was my first time with the new camera housing and strobes, although I have had the camera for at least half a year at this point. I had been using a point & shoot with the same brand of housing (Ikelite, I really like their housings) but that camera wasn't compatible with the TTL system. This housing makes full use of TTL! I have a good bit to learn to get better dive pics.
I needed a good bit of post-production work to get these photos to be usable, you should see the virtual cutting room floor. So many of the pics were way underexposed. Not sure if I had the strobe aimed incorrectly or if I just had the settings wrong.
